NDA Secures Landslide Victory in Bihar Assembly Elections
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has expressed his first official reaction following the National Democratic Alliance's sweeping victory in the 2025 Bihar Legislative Assembly elections. According to the latest data from the Election Commission of India, the BJP-led NDA coalition is headed for a massive win, crossing the crucial majority mark with 204 seats in the 243-member Assembly.
The ruling coalition's performance has far exceeded expectations, while the Opposition Mahagathbandhan trails significantly with leads in only 32 seats. These trends align closely with most exit polls that had predicted an NDA victory in Bihar this year.
Nitish Kumar's Victory Statement
In his first public statement since the election results began pouring in, the Janata Dal (United) leader took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to acknowledge what he termed as a "resounding victory" for the alliance. "The people of the state have expressed their trust in our government by giving us a resounding majority in the 2025 Bihar Legislative Assembly elections," Kumar wrote.
The Chief Minister extended his gratitude to Bihar's voters, stating, "For this, my respectful obeisance, heartfelt gratitude, and thanks go to all the respected voters of the state."
Acknowledgment of Allies and Development Promise
Nitish Kumar specifically thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his support during the election campaign. "I salute the respected Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji for the support he has given me and express my heartfelt gratitude and thanks to him," he stated in his social media post.
The Chief Minister also recognized the contribution of other NDA partners in securing this decisive victory. He expressed thanks to alliance partners Chirag Paswan, Jitan Ram Manjhi, and Upendra Kushwaha, emphasizing that "the NDA alliance demonstrated complete unity in this election and secured a landslide victory."
Looking ahead, Kumar made significant development promises for Bihar, asserting that "with your cooperation, Bihar will progress further and will be included in the category of most developed states of the country."
Election Process and Timeline
The vote counting process began at 8 AM today following the two-phase polling conducted on November 6 and November 11, 2025. While final results for most seats are expected by 7 PM today, the Election Commission has not provided official confirmation on the completion timeline.
The massive mandate for the NDA coalition indicates strong public support for the current government's policies and development agenda. This victory marks another significant political achievement for Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and his alliance partners in the state.
