Security Heightened After Stone Pelting Incident

Security was significantly strengthened in Bihar's Kaimur district following an alleged incident of stone pelting at a vote counting centre during the Assembly elections. The incident occurred amid the high-stakes counting process for the Bihar Legislative Assembly Elections 2025.

The Kaimur Police immediately responded to the situation, taking to social media platform X to assure the public that they were "fully active and alert to ensure the counting of votes is conducted in a fair and peaceful environment". The police department emphasized their commitment to maintaining strict security arrangements and strengthening law and order throughout the counting process.

BSP Levels Serious Allegations

The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) raised serious concerns about the vote counting process, particularly regarding the Ramgarh constituency in Kaimur. In a strongly worded social media post, the party alleged that "the administration seems determined to reverse the people's verdict" despite their candidate initially securing victory.

According to the BSP's claims, their candidate had won by 123 votes initially, but votes were mysteriously deducted during the counting process. The party stated that even after what they described as manipulation, their margin stood at 38 votes, yet the victory certificate was being withheld. The BSP characterized this as "the slow murder of democracy" and highlighted that this wasn't an isolated incident, referring to a similar situation in the previous election where they were defeated by just 161 votes in a suspicious recount.

Despite these allegations, official data from the Election Commission website confirmed that the BSP managed to win a solitary seat in the Bihar Assembly polls. Their victory came in Ramgarh where candidate Satish Kumar Singh Yadav won by a margin of 30 votes, according to the latest available data.

NDA's Decisive Victory in Bihar Elections

The vote counting for the Bihar Legislative Assembly Elections 2025 was held on Friday, November 11, resulting in a decisive victory for the National Democratic Alliance. The NDA decimated the opposition Mahagathbandhan led by the Rashtriya Janata Dal and the Congress.

The Bharatiya Janata Party emerged as a major force with 89 seats, while alliance partner Janata Dal (United) under Chief Minister Nitish Kumar secured 85 seats. The opposition alliance faced a significant setback with the RJD managing only 25 seats and the Indian National Congress limited to just six seats.

The incident in Kaimur and the subsequent security measures highlight the tense atmosphere that sometimes accompanies high-stakes electoral processes in India, even as election authorities work to ensure free and fair voting processes across the state.
