The Deputy Commissioner of Belagavi has directed district officials to remain prepared to manage the flood situation following predictions of heavy rainfall in the region. Helplines to Be Established Without Delay
Officials were instructed to set up district-level and taluk-level helplines immediately to assist residents in case of emergencies. The Deputy Commissioner stressed that these helplines should be operational round-the-clock and publicized widely so that people can reach out for help. According to the DC, timely communication is critical to coordinate rescue and relief efforts.
Preparedness Measures Reviewed
The meeting reviewed the availability of essential equipment such as boats, life jackets, and sandbags. Officials from the revenue, police, fire, and health departments were asked to ensure that their teams are on standby. The DC also directed that vulnerable areas be identified and monitored continuously, with special attention to low-lying regions prone to waterlogging.
