To kickstart this ambitious process, Chief Secretary H Rajesh Prasad issued the initial set of instructions on January 1. A follow-up reminder was sent out on Tuesday to accelerate the submission of draft plans from all concerned departments. Chandigarh Industrial and Tourism Development Corporation (CITCO): CITCO is exploring strategies under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. The goal is to increase hotel occupancy during the off-season periods. Additionally, they plan to conduct thorough financial evaluations of their currently operational units.

Agricultural Marketing Board: A significant project involves the development of the new grain, fruit, and vegetable market in Sector 39. The plan includes auctioning the remaining plots and constructing all necessary core infrastructure to make the market fully functional.

Estate Office & Engineering Department: This department is working on establishing a dedicated bulk material market in Sector 56. This initiative is designed to systematically relocate existing, scattered markets and provide a proper, organized space for trades dealing in marble, furniture, and various construction materials.

Sector 26 Vegetable Market: In preparation for its phased relocation, immediate attention will be given to the market's vicinity. Plans include upgrading the surrounding roads and removing all encroachments to improve accessibility and order.

Information Technology Department: Embracing digital transformation, the IT Department has proposed crucial upgrades. This includes modernizing the data centre infrastructure and, importantly, launching a new public grievance portal. This portal is expected to streamline the process of resolving complaints and significantly enhance citizen engagement with the administration.
