New Delhi: The Delhi government has taken swift action following the tragic collapse of a foot overbridge (FOB) in the Roop Nagar area of north Delhi, which resulted in the death of a woman. Public Works Department Minister Parvesh Verma announced on Tuesday the formation of a three-member committee tasked with investigating the incident and submitting a comprehensive report within 48 hours.

"Despite these precautions, some individuals continued to use the bridge, which ultimately led to this unfortunate incident," officials stated.

He also called for an ex gratia payment of Rs 50 lakh to the family of the deceased woman, stating, "The administration has totally failed to renovate the dilapidated civic infrastructure."
