Forest Minister Eshwar Khandre has announced that the state government aims to establish a hostel for underprivileged students in every taluk. Speaking in Belur, he emphasized that providing accommodation is a key step toward ensuring equal access to education.
Current Progress
Hostels have already been constructed for girl students in many district headquarters. The government plans to expand this initiative to cover all taluks, ensuring that students from economically weaker backgrounds have a safe place to stay while pursuing their studies.
Minister's Vision
Khandre stated, 'Our goal is to leave no student behind. By building hostels in every taluk, we can reduce the dropout rate and help children focus on their education without worrying about shelter.' The initiative is part of a broader effort to improve educational infrastructure in rural areas.
The announcement was made during a visit to Belur, where the minister also reviewed ongoing development projects. He urged local authorities to expedite the process of identifying suitable locations for the hostels.
