Comprehensive Staff Participation Across Departments

The training programme saw participation from a diverse cross-section of ICAR personnel, including:

  • 65 scientific staff members
  • 44 administrative personnel
  • 86 technical staff members
  • 11 finance department employees
  • 15 supporting staff members

This broad representation ensured that multiple facets of ICAR's operations received focused attention during the training sessions.

Programme Details and Implementation

The training was conducted from January 22 to February 10, 2024 at the ICAR Research Complex for North Eastern Hill Region, located in the Ri-Bhoi district of Meghalaya. This intensive three-week programme was organized under the Centre's flagship initiative: 'Rashtriya Karmayogi Large-Scale Jan Seva Programme – From Learning to Action.'

According to official statements, the primary objective of this initiative was to transform existing work culture by shifting from traditional approaches to modern and progressive practices within government institutions.

Strategic Objectives and Expected Outcomes

The Karmayogi Mission-driven programme specifically aimed to:

  1. Foster modern thinking among government employees
  2. Enhance skill sets across various departmental functions
  3. Improve service delivery mechanisms to the public
  4. Promote leadership qualities within the administrative framework

This training represents a strategic investment in human resource development within India's agricultural research infrastructure, particularly in the Northeast region where ICAR plays a crucial role in agricultural advancement and rural development.

The initiative aligns with broader government efforts to modernize public administration through continuous learning and capacity building, ensuring that scientific and administrative staff are equipped with contemporary governance practices to better serve agricultural communities across the region.
