India Post Workers Caught Hurling Parcels on Tracks in UP, Video Sparks Outrage
India Post Workers Throw Parcels on Railway Tracks, Video Viral

A disturbing video from Uttar Pradesh has ignited widespread anger on social media, exposing a shocking case of mail mishandling by India Post employees. The footage, recorded at Ma Belhadevi Dham Pratapgarh Railway Station, shows workers casually hurling sacks of mail and parcels directly onto the railway tracks.

Shocking Incident Captured on Camera

The incident took place on November 23 around 4:25 pm. A bystander, stunned by what he was witnessing, began recording the scene. In the video, he can be heard expressing his disbelief and sarcasm. "India Post is delivering parcels, but not in the way one would think," he says. "They are tossing parcels on the railway tracks — a train can easily run over all these parcels."

Pointing at the parcels scattered on the tracks, the man adds, "Just look at how politely they are throwing your parcels. Imagine if one of these had a brand-new iPhone. And mind you, this isn't trash. These are parcels someone's loved ones may have sent." The video shows the workers pausing their actions only after they notice they are being filmed and telling the person to stop recording.

Public Outrage and Official Response

The clip was shared online with a caption calling out the carelessness, tagging @railminindia and @indiapost_dop. It quickly went viral, drawing fierce criticism from netizens who slammed the blatant negligence and lack of accountability.

In response to the uproar, India Post issued a statement expressing regret. "We sincerely regret the incident shown in the video. The matter has been taken cognizance of and necessary action has been initiated. We remain committed to ensuring safe handling of all mail," the department said.

The Prayagraj Postal Region provided more specifics, confirming that the contractual worker involved in mishandling the mail bags has been removed. Action has also been initiated against supervising staff for their negligence. Furthermore, the postal authorities have requested the Railways to provide a ramp for the proper movement of mail bags to prevent such incidents in the future.

Social Media Reacts to Postal Negligence

The public reaction online was one of shock and frustration. Many users shared their own experiences of receiving damaged parcels. One comment highlighted a systemic issue, stating, "This is lack of monitoring and strict punishment. Parcels often arrive torn and damaged because of this process. They think being government employees means salary and increment without responsibility." The viral video has put a spotlight on the urgent need for better training, infrastructure, and accountability within the postal logistics chain.
