Maharashtra to launch Marathi learning app for migrants

Nashik: Maharashtra's Marathi language minister Uday Samant announced on Thursday that the state government will launch a dedicated mobile application within the next two months to help migrants from other states learn Marathi. Speaking to reporters during his visit to Ahilyanagar, Samant said the app will enable users to learn Marathi free of cost through user-friendly modules.

Minister emphasizes Marathi integration

"I believe those living in Maharashtra should know and speak Marathi. This is not a compulsion, but when Marathi is the mother tongue and widely spoken, non-Marathi speakers should also make an effort to learn it," Samant stated. He added that the initiative would help migrants integrate better into local communities, fostering cultural harmony.

Industrial development plans

Discussing regional industrial growth, Samant revealed that the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) is developing a new industrial estate in Sangamner taluka, expected to be operational within two to three months. This move aims to attract investments and boost local employment. Additionally, new MIDC areas have been proposed in Newasa and Shrigonda talukas of Ahilyanagar district to accelerate industrial development.

Party organizational strengthening

Samant noted that his visit to Ahilyanagar also focused on strengthening the party organization. As the Sampark Mantri for Nashik and Ahilyanagar districts, he recently reviewed the party's functioning in Nashik and held interactions with workers and office-bearers in Ahilyanagar to ensure effective grassroots coordination.
