UP Cabinet Approves Land for Nursing College in Kushinagar

The establishment of a government nursing college in Kushinagar moved a step closer on Monday after the Uttar Pradesh cabinet approved the free transfer of land for the project near the autonomous state medical college in the district.

Land Allocation Details

The proposed nursing college will come up adjacent to the Kushinagar Medical College in Rampur village of Padrauna tehsil. The cabinet cleared the transfer of 0.405 hectare of ceiling land to the medical education department free of cost. This land parcel is part of a total 1.054-hectare area located around 500 meters south of the Padrauna-Kubersthan main road.

Central Scheme and Funding

The nursing college is among the 27 colleges allotted to Uttar Pradesh by the Centre under a centrally sponsored scheme aimed at strengthening nursing education infrastructure across the country. The Centre has fixed the cost of each nursing college at Rs 10 crore, with 60% funding to be borne by the Union government and the remaining 40% by the state government.
