A New Dawn for the Birhor Community in Chatra
In a significant step towards tribal welfare, eight families from the Birhor community, officially designated as a Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group (PVTG), were gifted new homes on Thursday. This transformative initiative was carried out under the state government's flagship Abua Awas Yojana scheme, bringing immense joy and security to the recipients.
House Keys Handed Over in Sheetalpur Tola
The official ceremony took place in Sheetalpur Tola village, located within the Pathalgada block of the Chatra district. The district administration, represented by District Welfare Officer Mohammad Aslam, personally handed over the keys to the new homeowners, marking a pivotal moment in their lives.
The beneficiaries, including Ranju Birhor, Sanju Birhor, Savita Birhor, and Jagni Devi, expressed overwhelming happiness. For them, this was not just a house but the fulfillment of a long-cherished dream, providing them with a sense of permanence and dignity that they had previously lacked.
A Tribute to Jharkhand's Legacy
The event was imbued with historical significance. Panchayat head Mahesh Dangi framed the housing distribution as a meaningful tribute to the sacrifices made by those who fought for the creation of the state of Jharkhand.
"We salute the martyrs and movement leaders whose struggle made this state a reality," Dangi stated, connecting this modern-day welfare effort to the historical struggle that led to the state's formation. This act of providing homes was portrayed as a continuation of the promise of a better life for all of Jharkhand's citizens, especially its most vulnerable communities.
The provision of these houses under the Abua Awas Yojana represents a concrete achievement in the government's efforts to uplift PVTGs, ensuring that development reaches the farthest corners of society and transforms lives at the grassroots level.
