Tragedy Strikes Hyderabad Family in Saudi Arabia Bus Crash

A devastating bus accident in Saudi Arabia has wiped out multiple generations of a single Hyderabad family, with 18 family members perishing in the collision between their bus and an oil tanker near Madina.

The tragic incident occurred on November 17, 2025, claiming at least 45 lives according to preliminary information shared by Hyderabad police chief VC Sajjanar. The majority of victims were from Hyderabad, though Saudi authorities and the Indian government have yet to release official casualty figures.

Three Generations Lost in Single Tragedy

The heartbroken family in Hyderabad identified their lost relatives as Shaik Nazeeruddin, a retired railway employee, who was traveling with his wife, son, three daughters, and numerous grandchildren. The family members spanned three generations, all embarking on what should have been a spiritual journey to Madina.

Mohammed Aslam, Nazeeruddin's nephew, confirmed the devastating scale of loss to PTI. "Whether it was an accident or what happened we do not know, but total 18 members- Shaik Nazeeruddin, his son, daughters and grandchildren were in the bus," Aslam stated during police investigations in Hyderabad.

Family photographs showed Syed Naseeruddin and his family members departing for Saudi Arabia, images that have now become painful reminders of the tragedy that unfolded thousands of miles from home.

Family Demands Comprehensive Investigation

The grieving relatives are demanding answers and accountability following the catastrophic incident. Aslam has called for a full-fledged inquiry into both the accident itself and the travel agency that arranged the Saudi Arabia journey for the family members.

The demand for investigation reflects growing concerns about the circumstances surrounding the deadly collision and whether proper safety protocols were followed by the travel organizers.

Nazeeruddin's family tragedy is compounded by the fact that one of his sons currently resides in the United States, having been spared from the accident but now facing the unimaginable loss of nearly his entire immediate family.

As the Hyderabad community mourns this unprecedented loss, questions remain about the exact cause of the collision and what measures can be implemented to prevent similar tragedies affecting Indian pilgrims and workers in Saudi Arabia.
