A devastating road accident on the Ballari-Siruguppa State Highway early Wednesday morning resulted in the immediate death of three family members and left two others with serious injuries. The tragedy struck near Devinagar Camp in Tekkalakote town, approximately 12 kilometers from Siruguppa.
Details of the Fatal Morning Crash
The accident occurred around 5 am on Wednesday. The family, hailing from Nittur village, was returning home after visiting a temple in the neighboring state of Tamil Nadu. Their journey ended in catastrophe on NH 150A as they neared Siruguppa.
According to police, the car, which was being driven by Prasad Rao (75), suddenly swerved to the right side of the road. The driver lost control, and the vehicle crashed violently into a culvert near Devinagar. The impact of the collision was severe, leading to the car overturning.
Victims and Immediate Aftermath
The three deceased have been identified as the driver, Prasad Rao, 75, along with Vijaya, 70, and Sandhya, 35. The two injured survivors are Padma, 70, and Briheshwar Rao, 45, both residents of Siruguppa.
Emergency services rushed the injured to the Ballari Medical College and Research Centre (BMCRC) Hospital in Ballari for urgent medical treatment. Police officials have reported that their condition is now stable.

Preliminary investigation by the Tekkalakote police points to a loss of control as the primary cause of the accident. The exact reason for the vehicle's sudden swerve is still under scrutiny. Authorities have registered a case at the Tekkalakote police station and are continuing their probe into the incident.
