Three E-Rickshaw Drivers Nabbed for Noida Murder
Police in Noida have arrested three men who worked as e-rickshaw drivers for the alleged murder of a 24-year-old man. The crime was reportedly motivated by suspicions of an illicit relationship with the wife of one of the accused. The victim has been identified as Ajay Mukhiya, a resident of a slum in the Raipur Pushta area.
Chilling Details of the Premeditated Crime
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police Yamuna Prasad, the conspiracy was hatched by Ram Vachan Manjhi (28). On December 28, the other main accused, Sajan Manjhi alias Sajjan (35), lured Ajay to the Raipur area under the pretext of drinking liquor. Ram Vachan was already present.
The trio then went to a secluded spot near Asgarpur village in Sector 128. Once Ajay was heavily intoxicated, Ram Vachan and Sajan took him in an e-rickshaw to an isolated location and strangled him to death. Initially, they buried the body nearby and returned home.
Body Disposal and Attempts to Mislead Police
The following day, in a bid to further conceal the crime, Ram Vachan involved his friend Ashok Manjhi (27). They wrapped Ajay's body in a plastic sack, loaded it into Ashok's e-rickshaw, and dumped it into a drain.
In a brazen attempt to divert suspicion, the accused even pretended to join the search for the missing Ajay. They accompanied Ajay's wife to the police station to file a report, acting concerned about his whereabouts.
The body was discovered and identified on January 1, 2026. During interrogation, Ram Vachan and Sajan confessed to the murder and revealed Ashok's role in disposing of the body.
Police Investigation and Recoveries
Officials have recovered key evidence, including a mobile phone and an ATM card belonging to the deceased Ajay Mukhiya. The e-rickshaw used to transport and dump the body has also been seized.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Shavya Goyal provided these crucial details of the investigation. Station House Officer (SHO) Sumnesh Kumar confirmed that all three accused are natives of Samastipur district in Bihar.
The case highlights a grim crime rooted in personal suspicion, leading to a brutal murder and a subsequent cover-up attempt that was ultimately unraveled by Noida police.
