ACB Uncovers Crores in Alleged Disproportionate Assets in Rajasthan Raids

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Rajasthan made a significant breakthrough on Friday, unearthing alleged disproportionate assets worth crores during coordinated raids in Bikaner and Phalodi districts. The operation targeted a junior assistant posted in a gram panchayat, resulting in the recovery of substantial cash, gold, silver, and multiple properties.

Details of the Accused and Allegations

The accused, identified as Shubhkaran Parihar, is currently posted at Gram Panchayat Udat under Panchayat Samiti Bap in Phalodi district. The ACB initiated an investigation after receiving a confidential complaint alleging that Parihar had amassed wealth far beyond his known sources of income during his postings at Gram Panchayat Kanasar and later at Udat. Following directives from the ACB headquarters in Jaipur, the Special Unit in Bikaner conducted a discreet verification process.

The inquiry revealed a staggering discrepancy: the assets allegedly acquired by Parihar were found to be 938% higher than his lawful income. This massive mismatch prompted the registration of a formal disproportionate assets case, and search warrants were subsequently obtained to proceed with the raids.

Execution of the Raids and Seizures

Under the supervision of DIG ACB Range Bikaner Bhuvan Bhushan Yadav, teams conducted early-morning searches at five locations across Bikaner and Phalodi. The raids targeted three premises in Bikaner city, including areas in Jaynarayan Vyas Colony and Mateshwari Enclave on Jaipur Road, as well as Bagginada in Gangashahar. Additionally, searches were carried out at his native village Punarasar and at Gram Panchayat Kanasar in Phalodi.

Officials reported the recovery of approximately Rs 76 lakh in cash from his residence. Furthermore, they seized 1.5 kilograms of gold and around 2 kilograms of silver during the operation. Investigators documented several properties as suspected assets, including three houses in Bikaner city, one house in Punarasar, and nearly 17 hectares of agricultural land.

Ongoing Investigation and Official Statements

A senior police official emphasized that the action was taken after verifying a massive mismatch between Parihar's income and his assets. The ACB has launched a detailed financial probe to further investigate the sources of these assets and any potential links to corruption. Officials stated that the case highlights the bureau's commitment to tackling corruption at the grassroots level in Rajasthan.

The recovery of such significant assets from a junior assistant has raised concerns about systemic issues within local governance structures. The ACB continues to analyze documents and evidence seized during the raids to build a comprehensive case against the accused.
