Shocking Murder in Agra: HR Manager Dismembered by Colleague After Rejecting Marriage Proposal
In a horrific incident that has sent shockwaves through Agra, Uttar Pradesh, a woman working as an HR manager at a private company was allegedly murdered and her body dismembered by a colleague. The accused, identified as Vinay, a 30-year-old accountant in the same firm, has been arrested by the police in connection with this gruesome crime.
Details of the Gruesome Crime
According to police officials, the victim, Minki Sharma, was in a relationship with Vinay, who reportedly wanted to marry her. However, Minki had refused his marriage proposal, which led to a dispute between the two. The situation escalated on the night of January 24, when after an argument, Vinay allegedly attacked Minki repeatedly with a knife typically used for cutting coconuts. The police stated that he inflicted a fatal blow to her neck, resulting in her death.
In a chilling turn of events, Vinay then dismembered Minki's body. He packed the torso and limbs in a plastic bag, sealing it with parcel tape, while keeping the head separate in a sack. Initially, he attempted to dispose of the body by throwing it into the Yamuna river but left it on a bridge instead before fleeing the scene. The head was reportedly placed in a black packet and thrown into a canal.
Police Investigation and Arrest
The Agra police launched a thorough investigation based on several CCTV footage and evidence collected from the office premises. Their efforts led to the arrest of Vinay on January 25. DCP (City) Syed Ali Abbas confirmed that the accused has been taken into custody, and efforts are ongoing to locate the victim's head, with divers being pressed into service to search the canal.
The body of the deceased was sent for a post-mortem examination to ascertain further details. Additionally, the police have recovered the knife allegedly used in the crime, along with the scooter and clothes connected to the incident.
Legal Action Taken
A case has been registered against Vinay under Section 103 (1) for murder and Section 238 for causing the disappearance of evidence or providing false information to screen the offender, as per the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The police are continuing their investigation to gather more evidence and ensure justice is served in this tragic case.
