The family's search for their daughter took a new turn on Monday when the woman, who had been in a live-in relationship with a man, appeared at the Sujangarh police station in Churu district. There, she demanded police protection, citing concerns for her safety.

On Tuesday, the Ganj police were informed and subsequently brought both the woman and the man to the Ganj police station for questioning. It was during this process that it emerged the couple had married, with the man belonging to a different community than the woman.
