Ambala Police Arrest History-Sheeter in 42 Theft Cases

Ambala Police Crack Down on Serial Theft Spree with Major Arrest

In a significant breakthrough, the CIA-II unit of Ambala Police has apprehended a notorious history-sheeter allegedly responsible for a staggering 42 theft cases across various police stations within the district. The operation led to the recovery of gold and silver jewellery valued at approximately Rs 9.5 lakh, marking a crucial victory in the fight against property crimes in the region.

Details of the Accused and Recovered Items

The accused, identified as Rahul Kumar, originally hails from Punjabi Bagh near B D Flour Mill in Ambala Cantonment. Currently, he was residing as a tenant near Panchdev Mandir, under the jurisdiction of the Mahesh Nagar police station. At the time of his arrest, Rahul was found in possession of around 6 tolas of gold and 240 grams of silver ornaments, which are believed to be proceeds from his illicit activities.

With this arrest, police have successfully cracked five major theft cases specifically in the Mahesh Nagar area. During intensive questioning, Rahul confessed to committing 12 thefts in this locality alone, shedding light on his extensive criminal operations.

Modus Operandi and Previous Legal Actions

Police investigations revealed that Rahul Kumar was highly skilled at evading law enforcement surveillance. His modus operandi involved committing burglaries with his face covered and wearing gloves, a tactic designed to avoid identification through CCTV footage and prevent leaving fingerprints at crime scenes. This sophisticated approach had previously allowed him to operate under the radar, despite courts having issued arrest warrants against him in eight separate cases.

Arrest Operation and Judicial Proceedings

Acting on precise technical inputs, a dedicated CIA-II team, led by ASI Sanjeev Kumar, orchestrated a strategic trap that culminated in Rahul's arrest near Subhash Park in Ambala Cantonment. Following his apprehension, he was promptly produced before a court, which subsequently remanded him to judicial custody, ensuring he faces legal consequences for his actions.

Ongoing Investigations and Community Impact

Authorities have emphasized that further investigation is actively underway to identify Rahul's associates and those involved in purchasing the stolen property. Police officials are confident that this arrest will significantly curb theft incidents in the area, providing much-needed relief to residents and enhancing public safety. The recovery of high-value jewellery not only disrupts criminal networks but also serves as a deterrent to similar activities, reinforcing the police's commitment to maintaining law and order in Ambala.
