A 35-year-old bank employee tragically lost his life after his vehicle plunged approximately 60 metres into a deep gorge in the Marchula area of Almora district on Saturday morning, according to police reports. The victim, identified as Subhash Singh Bisht, was a resident of Kachnal Gazi in Kashipur, located in the US Nagar district.

Subhash Singh Bisht worked as the head cashier at a Punjab National Bank (PNB) branch situated in Thalisain, within the Pauri Garhwal district. Police officials stated that Bisht had left the bank premises on Friday evening and was en route to his home for the weekend when the devastating accident occurred.

The incident took place on a state highway near the Kuphi bend in the Talla Salt area. Authorities reported that Bisht's car lost control on the winding road, leading to the vehicle plummeting into the gorge below. A dedicated rescue team from the Salt police station rushed to the scene and initiated a comprehensive rescue operation.
