The Mira Bhayandar Vasai Virar (MBVV) Police arrested 25-year-old Abdul Rehman Shah on Saturday. The accused, who originally hails from Azamgarh in Uttar Pradesh, has been running his salon in the Naigaon area for several years. According to officials, local residents had repeatedly raised objections to the content he played.
Despite receiving warnings, Shah allegedly continued to play the provocative songs regularly. This persistent activity led to a formal complaint from the community, prompting police intervention.

Law enforcement officials arrested Shah from the Chinchoti area in Vasai taluka. He has been charged under section 197 (1) (d) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. This specific section deals with the publishing or circulating of false or misleading information that jeopardises India's sovereignty, unity, or security.
Following his arrest, Shah was presented before a local court. The court has remanded him to police custody, allowing investigators to proceed with their inquiry.
