High Drama at Bengaluru Club: Man Strips Over Forgotten Phone, Gets Knocked Down by Car

In a bizarre and shocking incident that unfolded at a club in Bengaluru, a 55-year-old man stripped and was subsequently knocked down by a car after being denied entry to retrieve his forgotten mobile phone. The Cubbon Park police have registered two separate FIRs in connection with the altercation, involving the man, the club's security guards, and the car driver, as investigations into the exact sequence of events continue.

Sequence of Events Leading to the Altercation

According to police officials, Rajesh Ananth visited the club on Lavelle Road with his family on February 1 for food and drinks. During this visit, he accidentally left his mobile phone behind at the premises. The next day, around 2 pm, Ananth returned to the club to retrieve his phone but was reportedly denied entry by the security guards stationed at the gate.

Police reports indicate that Ananth, who was intoxicated at the time, became agitated and created a disturbance at the club's entrance. In a fit of rage, he took off his clothes and allegedly attempted to stop a red car that was leaving the club premises. This reckless action resulted in him being knocked down by the vehicle, causing bruises and bleeding injuries. The driver of the car reportedly fled the scene immediately after the incident.

Viral Video and Police Investigation

Several bystanders present at the scene recorded the entire incident on their mobile phones, and the video quickly went viral on social media platforms, drawing widespread attention. In his complaint, Ananth stated, "The security staff caught me and dragged me out. One of them hit me with a stick, and then I was knocked down by a car while trying to stop it. I have sustained injuries."

The Bengaluru police are currently verifying the exact sequence of events and examining the videos recorded by bystanders to piece together a clear picture of what transpired. Investigations are ongoing in both cases registered, with authorities working to determine the roles and responsibilities of all parties involved.

FIRs Registered Under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita

The police have filed two FIRs based on the complaints received. The first FIR was registered on a complaint filed by Ananth against the security guards and the car driver. This includes charges under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita section 118(1) for voluntary causing of hurt and relevant sections for rash driving.

The second FIR was registered against Ananth himself under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including:

  • Section 292 for public nuisance
  • Section 296 for obscene acts or words
  • Section 351(2) for criminal intimidation
  • Section 352 for intentional insult with intent to provoke a breach of peace
  • Section 355 for misconduct in public by a drunken person

This incident highlights the serious consequences of public disturbances and the legal ramifications under the newly implemented Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. As the investigations progress, the Bengaluru police aim to ensure justice is served while addressing the viral nature of the case that has captured public interest.
