Bengaluru Police Intensify Security Measures

In response to the devastating explosion near Delhi's Red Fort that claimed at least nine lives and injured numerous others, the Bengaluru City Police has declared a high alert across the metropolitan area. The security escalation came immediately after Monday evening's tragic incident in the national capital.

Comprehensive Security Checks Implemented

Bengaluru Police Commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh confirmed that security has been significantly enhanced at all major public spaces and critical infrastructure points. "Security has been intensified at all major public places and critical infrastructure locations, including railway stations, bus terminals, the airport, metro stations, shopping malls, business establishments, and other vital institutions", stated Singh.

The police force has been directed to maintain strict surveillance and ensure continuous monitoring throughout the city. As part of the enhanced security protocol, barricades have been installed across key roads in Bengaluru, with comprehensive vehicle checks being conducted systematically.

Public Cooperation Sought

Additional police teams have been deployed across the city to identify and verify any suspicious individuals or activities. The Bengaluru police have made a public appeal, urging citizens to report any unusual or suspicious behavior they might observe in their neighborhoods or public spaces.

Security personnel conducted thorough checks at numerous public transportation hubs, including metro stations, bus stands, and railway stations. Night patrols and vehicle inspections were also intensified as part of the security measures implemented on November 11, 2025.

Details of the Red Fort Incident

The triggering event occurred in Delhi at 6:52 PM on Monday when a slow-moving vehicle stopped at a traffic signal near Gate No 1 of the Red Fort Metro Station. The explosion resulted in six cars, four motorcycles, and three e-rickshaws catching fire, according to official sources.

Delhi Police Commissioner Satish Golcha provided details of the incident to reporters, while Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who visited the blast site, confirmed that investigating agencies were examining "all angles" and not ruling out any possibilities regarding the cause of the explosion.

Investigators traced the vehicle involved to a Gurgaon resident, who revealed during questioning that he had sold the car to another party. The Hyundai i20 had changed ownership multiple times, with the current owner identified as a resident of Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir. Preliminary investigations indicate the vehicle had been parked near the Red Fort area for over three hours before being driven out prior to the explosion.
