Bengaluru Manager Robbed of Gold Worth Rs 12 Lakh in Carjacking Incident
In a shocking late-night robbery, a 42-year-old manager employed with a transport company in Mahadevapura, Bengaluru, was robbed of gold ornaments valued at more than Rs 12 lakh by three unidentified miscreants. The incident occurred near Budigere Cross, where the assailants threatened the victim inside his own car.
Details of the Robbery
The victim, identified as Shankar M, a resident of Budigere village, had just finished work and was driving back home in his car. Around 10:55 PM, as he approached Budigere Cross, two individuals on a scooter signaled him to stop by waving their hands. Mistaking them for acquaintances, Shankar pulled over his vehicle.
Immediately, two of the assailants entered the car while a third person positioned himself near the car door. The man seated in the backseat allegedly brandished a black weapon that resembled a pistol and issued threats, demanding that Shankar hand over his gold ornaments.
Stolen Items and Aftermath
The trio swiftly confiscated a significant amount of valuables before fleeing the scene. The stolen items included:
- A gold bracelet weighing 22 grams
- Two gold rings with a combined weight of 21 grams
- A gold chain weighing 28 grams
- A gold dollar weighing 5 grams
- A wristwatch
- The keys to the victim's car
The total estimated value of the stolen gold ornaments exceeds Rs 12 lakh, marking this as a high-value robbery. Local authorities have launched an investigation into the incident, but the miscreants remain at large, with no arrests made so far.
