The group, led by an individual named Manoj, allegedly pushed Naveen into the vehicle and transported him to a farmhouse in Ratna Nagar. There, they subjected him to physical assault using wooden logs, targeting his hands and legs specifically. The assailants also issued death threats, warning that they would decapitate him with a machete if he reported the incident to authorities.
Background of the Mobile Phone Dispute
The conflict originated months earlier when Naveen purchased a mobile phone from another youth for Rs 8,000. Later, facing financial constraints for college fees, he sold the same device to Manoj, a known acquaintance. Approximately two months ago, Manoj informed both Naveen and his mother that the phone had been linked to a criminal investigation and subsequently seized by police.
Since that revelation, Manoj had been persistently troubling Naveen. In the same month, he visited the student's home and created a disturbance, accusing Naveen of selling him stolen property and committing fraud.
