A shocking incident of police brutality has emerged from Bihar's capital, where a young biker was allegedly slapped, abused, and threatened by Patna police personnel during a routine traffic stop. The entire confrontation was captured on the victim's action camera and has since gone viral on social media platforms, sparking widespread condemnation and demands for accountability.
The Violent Confrontation
The ordeal began when Ishu, the biker, was riding on a six-lane bridge road in Patna on November 15, 2025. Police officers motioned for him to stop at a checkpoint, with one cop audibly threatening, "Marenge tamacha khich ke" (We'll slap you hard). When Ishu complied and stopped his vehicle, the officer demanded he remove his helmet.
Ishu responded by asking "Boliye na" (Please tell me what happened), which triggered a torrent of abuses from the police personnel. As Ishu began removing his helmet while still seated on his bike, one officer suddenly started pulling at his mounted action camera. Despite Ishu's pleas that "Sir, ye tut jayega" (Sir, this will break), the officers continued to tug aggressively at the recording device.
The video then shows Ishu standing nearby while multiple policemen shout around him. In his subsequent narration, Ishu clarifies that they weren't performing any stunts and he simply had a normal camera in his hand. He claims the officers "beat him badly together" without any valid reason.
Threat Calls and Intimidation
As the video gained traction online, the situation escalated dangerously. Ishu began receiving threatening phone calls from individuals claiming to be police officials, demanding he delete the viral footage immediately.
In one recorded call shared by Ishu's friend Utkarsh Mishra, a caller aggressively questions: "Kahe wo video viral kiya babu?" (Why did you make that video viral, boy?). When Ishu explains that he was documenting the abuse and beating he suffered, the caller issues a direct threat: "Jaldi delete karo nahi toh hum tumko arrest kar lenge" (Delete it quickly or we will arrest you).
The caller further attempts to guilt-trip Ishu by asking if he wouldn't respect police dignity, to which Ishu rightly counters that the officers had already destroyed their own dignity through their wrongful actions and foul language.
Public Outrage and Official Response
The video and subsequent threat calls triggered massive public outrage on social media platforms. Ishu's friend Utkarsh Mishra posted the footage on X (formerly Twitter), tagging official handles of Bihar Police, Patna Police, and government authorities while demanding immediate action and suspension of the involved officers.
Mishra issued a 24-hour ultimatum to authorities, warning that they would escalate the matter further if no action was taken. The public response was overwhelmingly supportive of the victim, with users condemning the "clear misuse of power" and expressing concern about the situation of common citizens facing such police behavior.
Facing mounting pressure, Bihar Police eventually responded on X, instructing Patna Traffic Police to investigate the matter. The local traffic police department confirmed that the complaint had been forwarded to concerned officials and that "appropriate steps" would be taken.
This incident highlights the ongoing challenges of police accountability in India and raises serious questions about the treatment of ordinary citizens by those sworn to protect them. As the investigation proceeds, many await to see whether meaningful action will be taken against the officers involved or if this will become another case of police excesses being swept under the carpet.
