In a remarkable display of courage and alertness, a woman constable of the Border Security Force single-handedly chased down and captured a suspected Bangladeshi narcotics smuggler attempting to cross the international border with a consignment of ganja.

The Border Confrontation

The incident unfolded on Thursday, November 14, 2025, around 3:00 PM near the Border Outpost Sutia in North 24 Parganas district. Constable Banita Jena, who is posted under the 67 Battalion of the BSF's South Bengal Frontier (Krishna Nagar Sector), spotted a suspicious individual moving toward the international boundary while riding a bicycle.
