Bulandshahr Horror: Teen Gang-Raped at Holi Fest, Three Arrested

A shocking case of sexual violence has emerged from Uttar Pradesh's Bulandshahr district, where a 16-year-old girl was allegedly abducted from a Holi celebration and gang-raped by four men in a parked car. The incident occurred on Wednesday evening, sending waves of outrage through the local community.

Details of the Assault

The victim, a Class 11 student, had attended the village Holi fest with her sister-in-law. According to the First Information Report (FIR) filed by her family, four men from the audience—known to the girl—forcibly took her to a nearby field. There, they sexually assaulted her inside a stationary vehicle, taking turns while allegedly being intoxicated.

The teen's cries for help were drowned out by loud music from the fest venue, as she repeatedly pleaded for mercy. After the assault, the accused dumped her in an unconscious condition in the field, where her family later found her.

Police Action and Legal Proceedings

Circle Officer Bhaskar Mishra confirmed that an FIR has been registered against three identified and one unidentified accused. The charges include:

  • Section 70(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for gang-rape
  • Sections 3 and 4 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act

Three of the accused have been arrested, while the search for the fourth is ongoing. The victim was sent for medical examination, and her health condition is reported as stable.

Family and Community Outrage

The girl's uncle expressed deep anguish, stating, "The accused were drunk and from our neighbouring village. My niece is severely traumatised, and it will be difficult for her to ever recover from this assault. We want the culprits punished for this heinous act."

In response to the incident, the family and local villagers held a protest on Thursday. They blocked the Bulandshahr road, levelling allegations of police negligence and demanding swift justice.

This case highlights ongoing concerns about women's safety during public celebrations and the urgent need for effective law enforcement in rural areas. Authorities are under pressure to ensure a thorough investigation and deliver justice to the victim and her family.
