Two Dead, Multiple Injured in Early Morning Highway Collision Near Vadodara
A tragic road accident on National Highway 48 near Karjan, Vadodara, claimed two lives and left more than ten people injured early on Friday morning. The incident involved a private bus that violently collided with a stationary truck, causing severe damage and trapping passengers inside the mangled vehicle.
Details of the Devastating Collision
The accident occurred near the Dhavat Chokdi bridge when the bus, en route from Aurangabad to Ahmedabad, rammed into a truck that was parked at the side of the highway. Police officials reported that the impact was so intense that it completely crushed the front portion of the bus. The exit door was severely mangled, leaving many passengers trapped inside the wreckage.
Two passengers, identified as Himmat Devipujak and Rafiq Sheikh, died on the spot. Initial reports indicated that approximately 25 individuals were stuck in the deformed vehicle following the collision.
Intensive Rescue Operation Launched
Karjan fire brigade teams rushed to the scene immediately and initiated a complex rescue operation. Firefighters had to cut open the bus using specialized equipment to access and extricate the passengers trapped inside. The rescue mission lasted for about 90 minutes, during which the injured and deceased were carefully pulled out using both professional tools and improvised arrangements.
Ten injured passengers were shifted to nearby hospitals for urgent medical treatment. Some of the injured are reported to be in serious condition, raising concerns about the severity of their injuries.

Police authorities have announced that a thorough investigation will be conducted to ascertain the exact cause of the accident. A police official stated, "Preliminary information suggests that the bus hit the stationary truck. We are examining whether negligence, poor visibility, or other contributing factors led to this tragic incident."
The collision caused significant congestion on National Highway 48 for some time, disrupting traffic flow. However, the situation was later cleared, allowing normal movement to resume.
