Tragic Bus-Motorcycle Collision Claims Teenager's Life in Buxar
A devastating road accident in Buxar district resulted in the death of a 16-year-old boy and left two others with serious injuries on Saturday afternoon. The collision occurred between a bus and a motorcycle in the Krishna Brahm police station area, sending shockwaves through the local community.
Details of the Fatal Incident
The accident took place near Lewar village around 3 pm, according to police reports. The deceased has been identified as Chhatu Shah, a resident of Dumari village under Simari police station jurisdiction. Eyewitness accounts suggest the bus was traveling at high speed and in the wrong lane when it violently rammed into the motorcycle coming from the opposite direction.
"The impact was absolutely horrific," said eyewitness Ravi Patel. "The bus was clearly speeding and completely on the wrong side of the road when it smashed into the motorcycle. One rider died instantly at the scene, while the other two were thrown violently onto the roadway."
Longstanding Traffic Safety Concerns
Local residents have expressed grave concerns about recurring traffic violations in the area, particularly highlighting dangerous practices by bus operators. Community members allege that buses frequently ply on the wrong side in the Naya Bhojpur area to pick up passengers, a dangerous maneuver made possible by the absence of proper traffic diversions.
"This is not an isolated incident," one resident stated. "Buses regularly drive on the wrong side here because there's no proper diversion route. This reckless behavior has led to multiple accidents over time, putting everyone's safety at risk."
Emergency Response and Investigation
Police personnel rushed to the accident scene immediately after receiving information about the collision. The injured victims were quickly transported to Sadar Hospital for emergency medical treatment. Authorities have seized the bus involved in the accident as part of their ongoing investigation.
Preliminary information indicates that all three youths were riding on the same motorcycle and were heading toward Dumri village at the time of the tragic incident. Krishna Brahm Station House Officer Ravi Kumar confirmed that a thorough investigation is currently underway to determine the exact circumstances and assign responsibility for the collision.
"We are investigating all aspects of this unfortunate accident," SHO Ravi Kumar stated. "Our team is examining the scene, collecting evidence, and speaking with witnesses to understand exactly what happened and why."
The tragic incident has once again highlighted urgent road safety concerns in the region, with local residents calling for immediate measures to prevent similar accidents in the future. The community mourns the loss of young Chhatu Shah while the injured continue to receive medical care for their serious wounds.
