Chandigarh Auto Driver and Friend Critically Injured in Vicious Village Attack
In a shocking incident of violence, an auto driver and his friend were brutally assaulted by a group of men armed with sharp-edged weapons and sticks in Faidan Nizampur village, Chandigarh. Details of the Violent Assault
According to the police complaint filed by the injured auto driver, identified as Lalit, the incident occurred around 9 PM under an iron bridge in Faidan village. Lalit was sitting with his friend, Sarang, when the accused, Sachin alias Ghoda and Ajay, arrived with 10 to 12 associates. The group initially hurled abuses at the victims before launching a vicious attack using sharp-edged weapons and sticks. Once Lalit and Sarang were severely beaten and injured, the assailants fled the scene, leaving them in a critical condition.
Police Response and Arrest
Police were alerted to the incident and promptly took the victims to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH-32) for urgent medical treatment. A case has been registered based on Lalit's statement. In a significant development, one of the accused, Sachin alias Ghoda, a resident of Faidan village, has been arrested by the Sector 31 police. Raids are currently underway to apprehend the remaining suspects, including Ajay and other associates involved in the attack.
