The incident came to light when authorities received information about an accident near T-3, Max Hospital, in front of Lohia Camp in Haiderpur. A police team swiftly arrived at the location and discovered a truck stationed at the scene with the young child lying grievously injured underneath. According to an eyewitness, the accident was caused by overspeeding and rash driving by the truck driver. "The child was crossing the road when the truck driver crushed him underneath," stated a senior police officer, based on the witness's testimony and preliminary evidence collected from the site.

In a desperate attempt to save the child's life, police immediately shifted Tirath to Babu Jagjivan Ram Memorial Hospital in Jahangirpuri.
