Class 12 Student Brutally Attacked with Ice Pick in Faridabad's Ballabhgarh
In a shocking incident that has sent shockwaves through the community, a Class 12 student was subjected to a vicious assault in the Chawla Colony area of Ballabhgarh, Faridabad. The attack, which occurred on January 25, involved the young victim being forcibly removed from his residence, beaten with wooden sticks, and stabbed in the neck with an ice pick by a group of unidentified youths.
Daylight Assault Captured on CCTV
The brazen attack took place in broad daylight, around 4 PM, and was captured on closed-circuit television cameras installed in the neighborhood. The footage reveals the terrifying sequence of events as the assailants attempted to abduct the student, identified as Prakash, a resident of Sector 7. According to police reports, Prakash was at home preparing to bathe when the group arrived in a Maruti Suzuki Baleno vehicle.
The attackers forcibly entered the house and dragged Prakash out onto the street. CCTV visuals show them trying to push him into their car, but the student managed to resist and free himself from their grip. Frustrated by his escape, the assailants then allegedly proceeded to beat him mercilessly with wooden sticks. During this brutal assault, one of the attackers stabbed Prakash in the neck with an ice pick, causing severe injuries.
Police Investigation and Suspected Motive
Local law enforcement authorities have registered a case of attempted kidnapping and assault against seven unidentified men. City Ballabhgarh SHO Inspector Shamsher Singh stated that multiple police teams have been formed and raids are currently underway to apprehend the suspects. The police are analyzing CCTV footage from the area to identify the accused and trace their movements.
While the exact motive behind the attack remains unconfirmed, police suspect it may be linked to an earlier dispute involving the victim during a Saraswati idol immersion event. Prakash has told investigators that he does not know his assailants, adding to the mystery surrounding the incident.

Following the assault, Prakash was rushed to a nearby hospital by his family members. He is currently undergoing treatment for multiple injuries sustained during the attack. His brother, Akash, who works as a vegetable vendor, expressed the family's profound trauma and shock. "We had never seen the attackers before. The incident has left us in shock," he said, highlighting the random and terrifying nature of the violence.
