A brave CRPF inspector, who sustained critical injuries in a devastating IED explosion during anti-Naxal operations in Jharkhand, has tragically succumbed to his wounds after a 20-day battle for survival.
Inspector Bikash Kumar Mishra of the 209th Cobra Battalion was seriously injured in the improvised explosive device blast that occurred on June 13th in the dense forests of Chaibasa district. The incident took place during a strategic security operation against Naxal elements in the challenging terrain of Jharkhand.
Valiant Fight for Survival
Following the explosion, the injured inspector was immediately airlifted to a specialized medical facility in Ranchi, where he received intensive care from a team of expert doctors. Despite their relentless efforts and advanced medical treatment, Inspector Mishra's condition continued to deteriorate over the following weeks.
The dedicated officer breathed his last on Tuesday, marking a somber moment for the entire Central Reserve Police Force community and the nation's security apparatus.
Tribute from Senior Officials
CRPF officials have expressed profound grief over the loss of their comrade, describing Inspector Mishra as a courageous and committed soldier who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. Senior commanders have highlighted the inherent risks faced by security personnel operating in Naxal-affected regions, where improvised explosive devices remain a persistent threat to life.
"The entire CRPF family stands in solidarity with the bereaved family of Inspector Mishra," stated a senior officer from the force. "His sacrifice will not be forgotten, and we remain committed to our mission of establishing peace and security in the region."
Ongoing Security Challenges
This tragic incident underscores the continuing security challenges in Jharkhand's Naxal-affected areas, where security forces regularly conduct operations against left-wing extremist groups. The use of IEDs by Naxal elements has been a major concern for security agencies, causing numerous casualties among security personnel over the years.
The CRPF, particularly its elite Cobra battalions, has been at the forefront of anti-Naxal operations across several states, operating in some of the most difficult terrains in the country to maintain national security and protect citizens from extremist violence.
