Woman Falls onto Tracks at Rajiv Chowk Metro Station in Suspected Suicide Attempt
A woman sustained severe head injuries after falling onto the tracks at Rajiv Chowk Metro Station in Delhi on Friday, according to police statements. Preliminary reports indicate the incident is being treated as a suicide attempt, with authorities confirming that further investigation is currently underway.
Police Investigation Underway at Metro Station
Delhi police officials stated that the incident occurred at the busy Rajiv Chowk Metro Station, one of the capital's most crowded transit hubs. "Preliminary reports suggest this is a case of a suicide attempt," a police spokesperson confirmed. "We are conducting a thorough investigation to determine the exact circumstances surrounding this tragic event."
The woman was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment of her severe head injuries. Police have secured the area and are reviewing CCTV footage from the station to piece together the sequence of events leading to the fall.
Three Bodies Discovered in Car at Peeragarhi Flyover
In a separate and equally tragic incident, three people were found dead inside a car on the Peeragarhi flyover in outer Delhi. The discovery was made on February 8, according to police reports received through news agency ANI.
Victims Identified as Investigation Continues
The deceased have been identified as Randhir, Shivnaresh, and Lakshmi, with one of them confirmed to be the vehicle's owner. Police received a PCR call at approximately 15:50 hours reporting that three individuals inside a car near the service lane of the flyover were unresponsive.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer District) Sachin Sharma provided details about the discovery: "We received a call around 4 pm about a car with three bodies, none of whom were responding. It doesn't seem that something forceful happened. We are still investigating."
Preliminary Findings Suggest Suicide
Police examination revealed no visible signs of injury on the bodies, leading investigators to consider suicide as the preliminary cause. "Three bodies, of two men and one woman, were found earlier today at the Peeragarhi flyover in outer Delhi," police officials stated. "Preliminary investigation suggests it is a case of suicide."
Authorities have sealed the area and initiated a comprehensive investigation to determine the exact circumstances surrounding these deaths. Forensic teams have been deployed to collect evidence from the vehicle and surrounding area.
Ongoing Police Investigations
Both incidents remain under active investigation by Delhi police authorities. In the Rajiv Chowk Metro Station case, police are examining whether there were any witnesses to the woman's fall and reviewing station security protocols.
Regarding the Peeragarhi flyover incident, police are investigating the relationships between the three deceased individuals, their movements prior to the discovery, and potential motives. "The investigation is underway," confirmed DCP Sachin Sharma, emphasizing that all possibilities are being considered despite the preliminary suicide assessment.
These tragic events highlight ongoing concerns about mental health and suicide prevention in urban environments. Police have urged anyone experiencing emotional distress to seek help through available support systems and helplines.
