Delhi Police Crime Branch Apprehends Two Suspects in Bindapur Firing Incident
In a significant breakthrough, the Delhi Police crime branch has arrested two individuals in connection with a firing incident that occurred at a builder's office in southwest Delhi's Bindapur area. The incident, which was reported on February 20, involved the discharge of three rounds of gunfire, causing alarm in the locality.
Intimidation Tactics Over Land Dispute
According to police officials, the firing was allegedly carried out with the intent to intimidate a local businessman embroiled in a land dispute. The perpetrators aimed to force a settlement on terms favorable to their gang, highlighting the use of violent tactics in property-related conflicts. A formal case has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Arms Act, underscoring the seriousness of the offense.
Arrest and Gang Connections
The accused have been identified as Bharat, aged 23 and a resident of Uttam Nagar, and Veeraz, also 23 and from Rajapuri. They were apprehended on Sunday near UER-II while allegedly attempting to change their hideout, indicating their efforts to evade law enforcement. Police investigations reveal that both individuals are active members of the Vinod alias Vicky Sanyasi gang, which is known to be associated with the Kapil Sangwan alias Nandu gang. Authorities stated that the duo were allegedly acting under the instructions of a jailed gangster, further complicating the criminal network involved.
Background and Criminal History
Notably, Bharat had recently been released from Tihar Jail, where he is believed to have come into contact with Vinod and subsequently began working on his directives. This connection underscores the challenges faced by law enforcement in curbing recidivism and gang activities in the region.
