New Delhi: The Delhi Police on Friday clarified that it has not received any formal request from the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) seeking permission to hold a protest at Jantar Mantar on Saturday. A police officer stated, 'If any request for permission is received, it will be examined as per the prescribed rules and procedures before a decision is taken.'
CJP's Call for Assembly
The CJP has called upon its supporters to gather at the Parliament Street Police Station at 9 am on Saturday to seek permission for a peaceful protest. The party claims it aims to promote the right to education and equal opportunity.
Police Monitoring and Security
Delhi Police officials said they became aware of the planned protest through social media and are maintaining a close watch on the situation. Monitoring has been intensified, and police personnel will be deployed at Jantar Mantar and other sensitive locations across the city to ensure law and order is maintained. 'Security measures remain in place at Jantar Mantar at all times, and necessary arrangements will continue to be made depending on the situation,' the officer added.
CJP Founder's Expected Arrival
CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke is expected to arrive in Delhi from Boston on Saturday morning. The party has issued a list of do's and don'ts for participants, encouraging them to carry the national flag and a book. 'We encourage supporters to attend with friends and fellow citizens while maintaining discipline and respect for public order,' a CJP statement said.
