Ludhiana Family Seeks Justice After Alleged Drug-Related Deaths of Sons
A grieving family from Sherewal village in Ludhiana continues to press for the arrest of a woman they accuse of being involved in the drug trade that they believe led to the deaths of their sons. The family asserts that all their sons have succumbed to drug consumption, and they demand that the arrest of the alleged female peddler could help curb drug activities in their locality.
Details of the Case and Police Response
Jasvir Singh, the last remaining son of the family, was found dead on January 14 near a canal path in the Sidhwan Bet area. Following this, the Sidhwan Bet police registered a case against Harpreet Singh of Sherewal village and Kulwinder Kaur of Malsihan for culpable homicide not amounting to murder. While Harpreet Singh has been apprehended, Kulwinder Kaur is still at large.
Police authorities, including Rajwarinderpal Singh, the in-charge of the Gidderwindi police post, have confirmed that efforts are underway to locate Kulwinder Kaur. She is believed to have switched off her phones and may have fled to Rajasthan. The police have also alleged that her family members are involved in drug peddling, with recent arrests made in connection to this.
Family's Persistent Demands and Grief
Paramjit Kaur, the sister-in-law of the deceased Jasvir Singh, emphasized the family's desire for justice through the arrest of the accused. She stated that all the sons, including her husband Raju Singh, died due to drug consumption. The family believes that apprehending Kulwinder Kaur would serve as a deterrent to drug trafficking in the area.
Kulwinder Kaur, a cousin of the deceased, echoed these sentiments, noting that despite the severity of the case, the woman has not been arrested yet. The family acknowledges police efforts but remains hopeful for a swift resolution.
Contradictions and Investigation Updates
However, the police post in-charge has disputed the family's claim that all six sons died from drug use. He clarified that one son died from Hepatitis, referred to as "kala pila," another in an accident, and others had issues with alcohol consumption.
In a related development, the police reported that no synthetic drugs or syringes were found at the scene where Jasvir Singh's body was discovered. They are awaiting postmortem and viscera reports to determine the exact cause of death.
A Mother's Heartbreaking Account
Shinder Kaur, the mother of the deceased Jasvir Singh, shared her profound sorrow, recounting the losses of her husband and sons over the years. She detailed that her husband died in a 2012 accident while intoxicated, and subsequent sons passed away from drug-related issues or other causes. Of her six sons, four were unmarried, adding to the family's anguish.
