Faridabad Police Crack Major Robbery Case, Nab Mastermind and Accomplice

The Faridabad Crime Branch has successfully cracked the high-value robbery case at Trikuta Metals in Sector-2, arresting two individuals, including the alleged mastermind. The breakthrough came on Friday, November 29, 2025, when the police team apprehended the accused from the Faridabad railway station as they were preparing to board a train to Bihar.

The Heist and the Arrests

On the intervening night of November 23 and 24, a group of at least five masked men carried out a daring robbery at the Trikuta Metals plant. They overpowered the lone security guard on duty, tied him up, and made off with a massive haul. The stolen goods included 2,110 kg of copper, a pickup van, and two LED televisions, with the total value of the loot estimated to be around Rs 25 lakh.

The police have identified the arrested individuals as Sandeep Suman, 42, and Suraj, 39. Both are residents of Bihar’s Munger district. Their capture at the railway station prevented their escape and marked a significant victory for the investigating team.

Inside the Investigation and Criminal Background

According to Varun Kumar Dahiya, Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) in Faridabad, the investigation revealed that Sandeep Suman was the mastermind behind the entire operation. Suman had a crucial insider's advantage, having worked at Trikuta Metals until six months ago. At the time of the robbery, he was employed as a security guard in Pyala village, Faridabad district.

"Strapped for cash, he hatched the plan and roped in accomplices from his village," Dahiya stated during a press conference on Saturday. He also confirmed that the entire loot has been recovered from the accused.

Further digging into their backgrounds uncovered a more sinister past for Suman. A police spokesperson revealed that Sandeep Suman has a murder case registered against him in Bihar and has previously served time in jail. His accomplice, Suraj, had recently arrived in Faridabad in search of work and was allegedly drawn into the crime by his fellow villager.

Ongoing Probe and Legal Proceedings

The two arrested men were scheduled to be produced in court on Saturday to seek police custody for further interrogation. The investigation is very much active, with the police focusing on identifying and apprehending the four to five other gang members who are still at large.

The case was initially registered under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at the Mujesar police station based on a complaint from the plant owner. The Crime Branch took over the investigation and managed to crack the case within a week, a feat achieved through a combination of technical surveillance and crucial inputs from informants.

This swift resolution highlights the effectiveness of the Faridabad police's specialized crime-fighting unit in tackling serious organized crime in the region.
