Four Arrested in Kilimanoor with 10.5g MDMA, Police Intensify Anti-Drug Drive
Four held with MDMA in Kilimanoor car check

In a significant crackdown ahead of the New Year, Kerala police arrested four individuals and confiscated a quantity of the synthetic drug MDMA during a vehicle inspection in Kilimanoor on Sunday. The operation was based on specific intelligence about narcotics movement in the area.

Joint Operation Nets Drug Haul

Acting on a credible tip-off, a combined team from the District Anti-Narcotics Special Action Force (Dansaf) and the Kilimanoor police set up a check at the busy Kilimanoor junction. The officers intercepted a luxury car and during a thorough search, found approximately 10.5 grams of MDMA in the possession of the four occupants.

The arrested men have been identified as Aneesh (30), Vivek (31), Muhammad Shahin (23), and Siyad (36). All are reported to be residents of the Thonnakkal area near Manjammal in rural Kilimanoor.

Senior Officials Lead the Charge

The successful interdiction was led by senior narcotics cell officials, including DSP K Pradeep and Attingal DSP Manjulal S. They were assisted on the ground by Kilimanoor Inspector B Jayan and Sub-Inspector Arun.

The Dansaf contingent was spearheaded by Sub-Inspectors F Fayas, B Dileep, and Rajeevan, with active support from team members Riyas, Dinor, Nandu, and Liju during the field operation.

Judicial Custody and Wider Investigation

Following their arrest, the accused were produced before a judicial magistrate. The court has ordered them to be remanded in judicial custody for 14 days.

Police sources indicated that the investigation is looking beyond mere possession. Authorities are actively working to determine if the four individuals have links to broader drug distribution or sale networks operating in the region.

This arrest is part of heightened anti-narcotics efforts across the Thiruvananthapuram rural district in the lead-up to New Year celebrations. In recent weeks, law enforcement has made numerous MDMA seizures and related arrests as part of an ongoing crackdown targeting the distribution and abuse of synthetic drugs.
