Ghaziabad Police Uncover Disturbing Details in Triple Sisters Death Case
In a heartbreaking development from Ghaziabad, police have revealed new information about the tragic deaths of three minor sisters who jumped from the ninth floor of their residential building in the early hours of Wednesday. The incident has sent shockwaves through the Sahibabad community and raised serious questions about digital addiction among youth.
Family Background and Immediate Aftermath
According to police officials, the three deceased girls - identified as Nishika (16), Prachi (14), and Pakhi (12) - were daughters of Chetan Kumar, who had married twice and has five children total, including four daughters and one son. The entire family lived together at their Ghaziabad residence in the Bharat City tower under Teela Mor police station limits.
The tragedy unfolded around 2:15 am on Wednesday when the sisters jumped from their ninth-floor apartment. Police arriving at the scene found the girls lying on the ground floor with fatal injuries. They were immediately rushed to a hospital in Loni via ambulance, but doctors declared them dead upon arrival.
Digital Addiction and Korean Game Influence
Assistant Commissioner of Police (Shalimar Garden) Atul Kumar Singh stated that preliminary investigations suggest the three sisters were addicted to a Korean task-based interactive "love game." Deputy Commissioner of Police Nimish Patil added that further investigation revealed the girls were heavily influenced by Korean content and spent excessive time on their mobile phones.
"Family members had restricted their mobile phone usage for the past few days, which left them distressed and may have triggered the decision to take the extreme step," DCP Patil explained during the investigation briefing.
Patterns of Behavior and Educational Background
Police revealed that the sisters had developed their online gaming addiction during the COVID-19 pandemic and had been regularly playing the Korean game together. ACP Singh noted that "the three did everything together - from bathing, eating and sleeping to going to school," indicating their exceptionally close bond.
DCP Patil provided additional context about their educational situation, stating that the girls' education had been irregular and they had not attended school for the past two years. Even before this period, their academic performance had not been satisfactory according to family statements.
Discovery of Disturbing Evidence
During their investigation, police recovered a diary from the girls' stationery that contained material directly linked to the incident. Inside the diary, investigators found a note reading, "Read everything written in this diary, it is all here," accompanied by a reference to a crying-face expression and a handwritten message saying, "Sorry papa, I am really sorry."
Ongoing Investigation and Unanswered Questions
Police officials emphasized that the investigation remains at an early stage, with many questions still unanswered. It remains unclear exactly when the mobile phone and gaming addiction began, though it's evident the girls were highly addicted to mobile phone use according to preliminary findings.
The incident occurred late at night after other family members had gone to sleep, adding to the mystery surrounding the sisters' final moments. Police are currently recording statements from family members and continuing their examination of all available evidence.
While the exact circumstances that led the sisters to take such an extreme step are still under investigation, the case has highlighted growing concerns about:
- The impact of online gaming addiction on young minds
- The influence of foreign digital content on Indian youth
- The challenges families face in managing children's screen time
- The psychological effects of sudden restrictions on digital access
This tragic incident serves as a sobering reminder of the complex relationship between technology, mental health, and family dynamics in contemporary Indian society.
