Gurgaon Man Succumbs to Injuries After Innova Collision in Traffic Jam

A tragic road accident on the Gurgaon-Faridabad Road has resulted in the death of a 50-year-old man, highlighting the dangers of reckless driving in congested traffic conditions. The incident occurred on Tuesday, following a collision involving a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) and a motorcycle that was stuck in a traffic jam.

Details of the Fatal Collision

According to police reports, the victim, identified as Shakir, was riding pillion on a Honda SP 125 motorcycle driven by his brother, Mohammad Rashid (37). The accident took place around 4:45 PM near a CNG pump in Gwal Pahari, where traffic had slowed down due to congestion. Rashid had stopped his motorcycle behind a Grand Vitara car when a white Toyota Innova allegedly approached at high speed and rammed into their bike from behind.

The impact was severe, causing the motorcycle to become wedged between the Grand Vitara in front and the Innova behind. Both brothers fell and sustained injuries in the collision. Shakir suffered serious injuries, including multiple bone fractures, and was immediately rushed to BK Civil Hospital in Faridabad with the help of a passing vehicle. Despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday.

Police Action and FIR Registration

Based on a complaint filed by Rashid and supporting medical documents, the DLF Phase 1 police station registered a First Information Report (FIR) against the Innova driver. The FIR includes charges under sections 281 for rash driving and 106 for causing death by negligence under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

A police officer involved in the case stated, "We have seized the car and will issue a notice to its owner as part of our investigation." Authorities also conducted a site inspection, photographed the damaged vehicles, and confirmed the registration number of the Innova, which Rashid noted down at the scene.

Background of the Victims and Incident Aftermath

Rashid, a painter by profession and native of Karmas Khedi village in Uttar Pradesh's Bijnor district, revealed that the brothers were returning from work in DLF Phase III and heading towards Shakir's rented accommodation in Dabua Colony, Faridabad. They were on their way to break their fast during Ramzan when the accident occurred.

In an emotional statement to the media, Rashid said, "My elder brother Shakir is survived by his wife and three children. I am currently undergoing treatment for a fractured leg back in our native village." The incident has drawn attention to road safety issues in the area, with police emphasizing the need for cautious driving in heavy traffic.

The investigation is ongoing, with authorities focusing on determining the exact cause of the collision and ensuring legal action is taken against the responsible party.
