According to sources, the incident took place on February 12, 2025, at the girl's house when no one else was present. The accused, a college student, lives near the victim, and both families have known each other for years. After the assault, he allegedly filmed the act and later tried to extort money from the girl by threatening to share the video if she reported him.
The video eventually reached the girl's mother, who confronted her daughter. The victim then narrated her ordeal, prompting the mother to file a complaint at the Bajghera police station on February 12, 2026.
Legal Charges and Police Action
The accused has been booked under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Charges include:
- Section 308(2) for extortion
- Section 351(2) for criminal intimidation
- Section 67B for obscene content involving children under BNS
- Section 15 for failure to delete, destroy, or report child pornography
- Section 4 for penetrative sexual assault under the POCSO Act
A police officer involved in the case stated that the child welfare committee was informed after registration, and counseling was arranged for the girl. She recorded her statement before a judicial magistrate, following which the accused was arrested. An investigator emphasized, "Proper protocol, as per the guidelines of the apex court, was followed. The accused has been arrested and the investigation is ongoing."
