Gurgaon Mothers' Courage Leads to Rescue of Missing Sons from Alleged Torture
The Gurgaon police have arrested two men in connection with the alleged abduction, torture, and sexual assault of five minor boys, following a harrowing incident that unfolded earlier this month. The arrests come after three determined mothers tracked down their missing sons and pleaded for their release from a room described as a scene of horror.
Incident Details and Police Action
The incident occurred on February 2, 2026, when the boys, aged between 10 and 14 years, were playing near an under-construction building in Gurgaon. According to police sources, the accused individuals suspected the children of attempting to steal construction materials, such as iron rods. They allegedly abducted the boys and took them to a nearby paying guest accommodation, where they were confined in a room and subjected to severe beating and other criminal acts.
On February 3, a woman lodged a complaint at a local police post after her 12-year-old son went missing upon her return from work. She soon met another woman whose two sons were also unaccounted for. Together, these mothers embarked on a desperate search for their children.
Mothers' Heroic Efforts and Rescue
The two women, joined by a third mother, learned from local sources that several boys were being held captive in a PG room and were being assaulted. Upon reaching the location, they discovered five boys, including their own and one other child, being held by five to six men. Despite facing verbal abuse and threats, the women repeatedly pleaded for the children's release. Their persistent efforts paid off late that night when the men relented and freed the boys.
The rescued children later recounted to their mothers that they had been brutally beaten and subjected to other offences during their captivity. This prompted immediate legal action.
Legal Proceedings and Arrests
An FIR was registered the same day at a police station under Section 10 (aggravated penetrative sexual assault) of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Additional charges included voluntarily causing hurt, wrongful confinement, negligent conduct with combustible substances, criminal acts with common intention, and criminal intimidation.
A police team, led by a sub-inspector, swiftly arrested two accused individuals: a 35-year-old resident of Gurgaon district and a 26-year-old resident of Uttar Pradesh. During interrogation, the arrested men revealed that one runs a utensil shop, while the other operates a flour mill and handles rental work. One of their associates owns the PG accommodation where the crimes allegedly took place.
Police officials stated that the accused and their companions often gathered near the under-construction building to smoke hookah. They had noticed small thefts of materials, such as rods, by unknown persons or scrap dealers. Suspecting the boys of similar intent, they caught the five children playing in the area and took them to the PG, where the offences were committed.
Ongoing Investigation and Victim Support
The police are currently questioning the arrested accused to gather details about their other accomplices and their whereabouts. Special teams have been formed to trace the remaining three suspects involved in the case.
Medical examinations of the victims have been conducted, and necessary legal procedures are being followed. This includes coordination with the child welfare committee for counselling and recording of statements to ensure the well-being of the children. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to bring all perpetrators to justice.
This case highlights the critical role of community vigilance and parental courage in combating crimes against children, while underscoring the importance of stringent enforcement of laws like the POCSO Act to protect minors from such atrocities.
