Two Arrested Shooters Injured in Police Encounter During Arms Recovery in Gurgaon

In a dramatic turn of events, two arrested shooters involved in multiple firing incidents across Gurgaon were injured in a police encounter on Friday night. The incident occurred during an operation to recover weapons used in a series of violent attacks that had terrorized residents of Kadarpur village and employees at a local toll plaza.

Series of Violent Incidents Unfold Over Two Days

According to police officials, the three accused individuals - identified as Vinay (26), Bobby (25), and Pawan (27), all residents of Kadarpur village - were involved in four separate firing incidents between January 28 and 29. The crime spree began with threatening phone calls to a Kadarpur resident, followed by the accused arriving in a black vehicle and firing 8-10 rounds in the air outside the complainant's home.

The violence escalated further when the group targeted the Ghamroj Toll Plaza on Sohna Road, allegedly breaking through a barricade and opening fire during a dispute over toll payment. Two additional firing incidents targeted homes in the same village, with police attributing the attacks to long-standing enmities and personal rivalries.

Dramatic Encounter During Arms Recovery Operation

After obtaining one-day remand from a city court on January 30 to recover the weapons used in these incidents, police took the accused to various locations for arms recovery. The situation turned dangerous when Vinay, while being taken to Purana Bahrampur village area, allegedly fired at the police team. A bullet struck the bulletproof jacket of ASI Manmohan, prompting police retaliation after warning shots.

In the ensuing exchange, Vinay sustained a bullet injury to his right leg. Meanwhile, Bobby attempted to flee while being taken to Bhondsi for arms recovery and fell, injuring his leg in the process. Both injured accused were immediately rushed to a hospital for treatment, where their condition was reported as stable.

Ongoing Investigation and Recovery Efforts

The third accused, Pawan, remained unharmed during the operation. Police officials confirmed that questioning of the arrested individuals is continuing, with efforts focused on:

  • Recovering all weapons used in the multiple firing incidents
  • Ascertaining complete details of the motives behind the attacks
  • Investigating any possible links to other criminal activities
  • Ensuring no police personnel sustained serious injuries beyond the bulletproof jacket hit

Cases have been registered at both Sector-65 police station and Bhondsi police station under relevant sections, including attempt to murder. The Crime Branch team that made the arrests continues to piece together the complete sequence of events that led to this violent crime spree and subsequent police encounter.
