Haryana Police Cracks Hansi Murder Case in 48 Hours, Arrests Key Accused

The Haryana Police have achieved a significant breakthrough by solving the blind murder case of a property dealer in Hansi within an impressive 48 hours of the incident. The prime accused, identified as Gurmeet Singh, a hairdresser from Bhaini Maharajpur in Rohtak district, was arrested on Thursday, marking a swift response to the crime that occurred on February 3.

Investigation Details and Evidence Recovery

According to Hansi SP Amit Yashvardhan, the postmortem report revealed that the victim, a 65-year-old man named Malik, sustained 14 injuries inflicted with sharp-edged weapons, with most wounds concentrated on his head. As part of the evidence collection, police recovered a .315 bore pistol and fingerprints from the crime scene, which played a crucial role in the investigation.

To expedite the case, 15 specialized teams were formed under the supervision of three DSP-rank officers, with additional support from cybercrime and crime branch units. During the investigation, authorities questioned 25 suspects. When attempts were made to contact Gurmeet Singh, he failed to respond, prompting police to rely on technical leads that traced his location near a local flyover.

Arrest and Identification of Accomplices

Upon spotting the police team, Gurmeet Singh attempted to evade capture by jumping from the flyover, resulting in a leg injury. He was subsequently admitted to Agroha Medical College for treatment. Police have also identified four accomplices involved in the crime, with three of them hailing from Chhatarpur in Madhya Pradesh. These individuals had come to Haryana in search of employment and were residing in rented accommodations.

The investigation uncovered that Malik was a regular customer at Gurmeet's salon, where the accused noticed his gold ring, kada, and chain. Motivated by a need for money to fund travel and leisure activities, the group planned a robbery. Gurmeet Singh provided his motorcycle to facilitate the crime, aiming to loot the property dealer's valuable ornaments.

Recognition and Rewards for Swift Action

In recognition of their rapid and effective response, Haryana DGP Ajay Singhal congratulated the Hansi Police team. He announced that the team would be honored with a cash reward of Rs 50,000 and a commendation certificate for their outstanding work in cracking the case. This swift resolution underscores the police's commitment to maintaining law and order in the region.
