Haryana Chief Minister Unveils Major Police Modernization Drive

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini declared on Tuesday that the state government is dedicated to establishing Haryana's law and order as a national benchmark. This initiative involves bolstering the police force through the integration of modern resources, upgraded infrastructure, and cutting-edge training programs.

Substantial Investment in Police Enhancement

Saini revealed that a significant allocation of Rs 300 crore is currently being utilized for police modernization efforts. Concurrently, the recruitment process for 5,500 new police personnel is actively progressing to strengthen the force's manpower.

SWAT Commando Course Valediction Ceremony

The chief minister made these announcements while serving as the chief guest at the valediction ceremony for the 6th batch of the SWAT Commando Course. The event took place at the Commando Training Centre in Panchkula.

During this intensive course, 88 personnel, comprising 11 Police Sub-Inspectors (PSIs) and 77 other ranks, underwent rigorous training in modern weaponry and specialized operational skills.

Inauguration of Advanced Firing Simulator

As part of the modernization drive, Saini inaugurated a state-of-the-art firing simulator constructed at a cost of Rs 85 lakh. This advanced facility merges modern technology with training methodologies, offering personnel an authentic simulation of real-time scenarios.

The simulator enables trainees to practice complex situations without any associated risks, thereby improving their reaction times and enhancing firing accuracy. It is designed to make training more effective, scientific, and result-oriented.

Historical Context and Future Plans

The chief minister highlighted that since its establishment in 1984, the Commando Training Centre has trained approximately 25,700 personnel. Originally conceived to address emerging security challenges, the center aims to prepare a highly trained force for special operations.

Saini emphasized that becoming a SWAT Commando transcends mere rank attainment; it involves assuming the critical responsibility of safeguarding the state's security.

Looking ahead, he announced plans to equip the Commando Training Centre with more advanced technologies. "Simulation-based training, virtual reality modules, and inter-agency joint exercises will be further strengthened," Saini stated.

"The government's endeavor is to ensure that every personnel is fully capable not only physically but also mentally and technically," he added.

Commitment to a Drug-Free Haryana

In alignment with broader security goals, Saini reaffirmed the government's firm commitment to achieving a drug-free Haryana under Action Plan 2029.

He also disclosed the implementation of the ‘TRAKEA' bar-coding system at the Forensic Science Laboratory in the Madhuban Police Complex. This innovation makes Haryana the first state in India to adopt such a system, streamlining processes from the police station level to the forensic lab.
