According to official figures released by the police spokesperson, the total number of registered crimes dropped from 10,115 cases in January 2025 to 9,492 cases in January 2026. The data reveals substantial reductions across various types of offences:
- Rape cases decreased by 54.55%, from 99 to 45 incidents.
- Cases under the SC/ST Act saw a decline of 32.91%.

Strict Actions Against Organised Crime and Drug Trafficking
Highlighting stringent measures, the police conducted 17 encounters in January, leading to the arrest of 26 criminals, including nine rewarded offenders. Overall, 9,561 criminals were apprehended, comprising 810 heinous offenders, 450 proclaimed offenders, and 49 rewarded criminals.
Enforcement Under Arms and NDPS Acts
Under the Arms Act, 191 cases were registered, resulting in 293 arrests and the recovery of 237 illegal weapons, 512 cartridges, and 20 magazines. Simultaneously, under the NDPS Act, 395 cases were filed, leading to the arrest of 707 drug traffickers and the seizure of a large quantity of narcotic substances. Additionally, 13 Look Out Circulars were issued, and data on 162 high-profile criminals was shared with inter-state agencies.

Director General of Police Ajay Singhal outlined his vision for Haryana Police in 2026, emphasising a shift from mere crime control to creating a secure, sensitive, and trustworthy environment. He stated that the police aim to strengthen proactive, technology-driven, and intelligence-based policing, with a focus on crime prevention to curb offences before they occur.
Technological Innovations and Public Safety
By 2026, Haryana Police plans to expand technological innovations in areas such as cyber crime control, road safety, emergency response, and public interface. This initiative aims to make the police force faster, more transparent, and accountable. Singhal also highlighted a zero-tolerance policy towards crimes against women and children, resulting in nearly a 100% detection rate in such cases.
Public Service and Humanitarian Initiatives
The DGP underscored the police's commitment to public service, noting that out of 1,15,342 calls received on Dial-112, 1,05,618 were successfully resolved, achieving a 92% satisfaction rate. Daily, approximately 5,460 police personnel were deployed at 424 checkpoints to enhance security.
Road Safety and Awareness Programmes
During severe cold waves, humanitarian assistance was provided to 15,757 needy persons. In road safety efforts, 3,38,953 challans were issued, and 2,413 accident victims received immediate on-the-spot assistance. Furthermore, 2,073 awareness programmes on cyber crime, women's safety, and social awareness benefited over 1.66 lakh citizens.
