Daylight Robbery Shocks Hazaribag: Jewellery Worth Lakhs Looted in Brazen Attack
In a shocking incident that unfolded in broad daylight, armed robbers targeted the owner of a jewellery showroom in Hazaribag, making off with gold ornaments and valuables estimated to be worth between ₹22 and ₹25 lakh. The brazen heist occurred near the Daily Market area under the jurisdiction of the Barkagaon police station on Saturday morning, sending waves of panic through the local community.
Details of the Daring Daylight Heist
The robbery took place around 11:30 AM, a time when the area is typically bustling with activity. According to eyewitness accounts, three criminals arrived at the scene on a motorcycle. They struck as the store owner, Prabhu Soni, was in the process of opening his shop. Soni was carrying a bag filled with gold ornaments at the time, which the miscreants swiftly snatched from his hands before making their escape.
In a violent turn of events, the fleeing robbers fired four to five rounds from their weapon. One of these bullets struck a local resident, Sudhir Soni, in his hand. Sudhir was immediately rushed to the Barkagaon Community Health Centre, where he received initial first aid. Due to the severity of the injury, he was subsequently referred to Hazaribag Sadar Hospital for more advanced medical treatment. Doctors have confirmed that his condition is now stable and out of danger.
Police Response and Investigation Intensifies
The audacious crime triggered immediate chaos and fear in the vicinity. A police team from the Barkagaon police station promptly arrived at the location and initiated a thorough investigation into the matter. Law enforcement officials are currently engaged in multiple lines of inquiry to apprehend the perpetrators.
