The Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) of Hisar has successfully intercepted a significant consignment of contraband, seizing 550.3 kilograms of poppy husk that was cleverly concealed beneath sacks of coal in a truck. The driver of the vehicle, identified as Rohtash, a resident of Mehuwala village in Fatehabad district, has been arrested and the truck has been impounded for further investigation.

Details of the Seizure

Acting on a precise tip-off, the ANC team intercepted the truck near Moda Khera village while it was traveling from Rajasthan to Adampur. Upon initial inspection, the vehicle appeared to be loaded with coal sacks covered by a black tarpaulin. However, during a thorough search, the team recovered 28 sacks containing the contraband artfully hidden beneath the coal sacks.

Legal Action Taken

A case has been registered under the relevant provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at the Adampur police station. Preliminary interrogation of the arrested driver revealed that the consignment allegedly originated from Rajasthan and was being transported into Haryana for distribution.
