The deceased, identified as Movadi Shankar, aged 51, served as the head cook at Famous Tea and Udipi Tiffins, a popular eatery located in Bharat Nagar. Shankar resided in a rented house in Erragadda. According to police reports, the tragedy unfolded around 4 am on Wednesday when Shankar was walking from his residence to the hotel.
During his commute, he was suddenly attacked by Baswaraj, a labourer from Erragadda, near Rainbow School in Bharat Nagar. Baswaraj allegedly used a knife to stab Shankar multiple times in the head, back, and hands before fleeing the scene immediately.
